Future of Clean Mobility Day Showcases EMS4PVBEV Achievements
Geri, Cyprus | 17 December 2025 – Cyprus Public Transport welcomed representatives from industry, academia, and government to its facilities in Geri for the Future of Clean Mobility Day, an event celebrating the successful completion of the EMS4PVBEV project and showcasing its innovative photovoltaic-powered, battery-integrated electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Developed through a collaboration between Cyprus Public Transport group of companies and the University of Cyprus, EMS4PVBEV demonstrates how renewable energy technologies can support the transition to cleaner and more sustainable transport systems. The project's infrastructure combines solar power generation, energy storage, and intelligent charging technologies to optimise the operation of electric vehicle charging stations.
During the event, attendees were presented with an overview of the project's development journey, from initial concept and design through to implementation and operation. The programme also highlighted key technical achievements, operational experiences, and lessons learned from deploying the photovoltaic-powered charging infrastructure at CPT's workshop facilities.
From concept to deployment, EMS4PVBEV has demonstrated how renewable energy and intelligent energy management can work together to power the future of sustainable mobility.
The event brought together representatives from academia, industry, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, and the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, highlighting the growing momentum behind innovative solutions for transport decarbonisation and the achievement of European Green Deal objectives.
Through the successful implementation of EMS4PVBEV, CPT and the University of Cyprus continue to support the development of smarter, cleaner, and more sustainable mobility solutions for Cyprus.
